A Beginning

Welcome reader to the inaugural blog of the Wargames Pavilion a place in this frantic World devoted to the carefree consideration of toy soldiers and little wars. My own interest in military history and playing wargames with toy soldiers was formed long ago in my childhood. My parents encouraged that interest and I was supplied with quantities of Britains toy soldiers from all periods of history, along with history books covering the life and warfare of those times.

Indeed the first battle I can recall playing was Hastings using Deetail knights on my father’s green baize covered billiard table with painted wooden blocks forming Senlac Hill. Since then my interest may have waxed and waned a little but it has never gone away and I’ve been enjoying playing battle games ever since. It is the pleasure that I have derived over the years from the hobby that has prompted me to start this journal and share that simple joy.
